Princess Boo

The long anticipated mermaid birthday - notice the bling.

OK, I thought a good way to get this blog going would be to tell you what is going on with our family as individuals. I'll start with the youngest and move on up.

Boo just celebrated her 4th birthday last week and it has been a wake up call as to how fast time flies! I can't believe my baby is FOUR! She is such a diva and drama queen so she keeps us in stitches. At the moment (and for quite some time now), she is consumed with all things "princess". Grandma just visited and noted that I must have no clothing budget for her because she wears her dress up clothes EVERY DAY! I have to insist at times that where we are going requires real clothes. You can almost imagine her prancing around the house in ball gowns and gawdy plastic high heel shoes every day, dripping with her baubles and practicing her curtsy. What royalty! For her birthday she requested a little mermaid cake (for those of you who don't know, she is considered the princess of the sea...) and she wore her Snow White dress for the party. This was her first friends party and she loved being the center of attention, of course.

In general, Boo is bright and precocious. She can write her name and has an uncanny knack for using big words. Recently she said, "my tummy doesn't feel well, it hasn't digested yet". OK. She is known for her dramatic emotions and her giggles and squeals. We recently took out her pierced earrings because of an infection that wouldn't go away and while she did want it that way, she then sobbed that "my ears won't be beautiful anymore!" It was the end of her world that day. Boo is starting to show more interest in drawing and writing these days but loves imaginary play. Often while we are doing school, she will lose interest in the books and go "mother" her toys or take Batman and Barbie to the ball. She does love to dance, from ballet to belly dancing and everything in between, and sing. Currently her favorite hit is the Reptile Rap (don't ask, I'm married to a Conservationist) and she really is a performer!
